September 11, 2001, will forever be remembered for unimaginable loss. Yet within that darkness, ordinary people made extraordinary choices. They helped strangers. They carried the injured. They searched through rubble. They opened their homes. They stayed when they could have left, and some moved toward danger when every instinct told them to move away.
They did not act because someone was watching. They did not ask whether anyone would remember their names. They saw someone who needed them, and they chose to help.
That is the spirit of a Hidden Warrior.
The Meaning Behind 9/11
Beginning each November, we invite you to make one simple commitment:
One $11 commitment
At any time before SEPTEMBER 11th
The 9th Month. An $11 Commitment. 9/11.
Just $11 makes you part of something much larger than the amount itself. It is a commitment to remember, to recognize, and to carry forward the spirit of ordinary people who choose courage, compassion, service, sacrifice, and hope when others need them most.
Eleven Dollars Is Small. What It Represents Is Not.
This campaign was intentionally created so that almost anyone can participate. You do not need to make a large donation to stand with us. You do not need wealth, influence, or a title. You simply make a one-time commitment of $11 and become part of a community determined to recognize the good that still exists around us.
One $11 commitment becomes hundreds. Hundreds can become thousands. And together, those acts of giving can help The Hidden Warriors Foundation recognize, honor, and share the stories of people whose extraordinary acts might otherwise go unseen.
This is not about how much you give. It is about choosing to stand with those who choose to serve others.
One Hidden Warrior. Every September 11.
Each September 11, The Hidden Warriors Foundation will recognize an individual whose actions demonstrate extraordinary courage, compassion, service, sacrifice, or an unwavering willingness to step forward when someone else needed help.
Throughout the year, people recognized through The Hidden Warriors Foundation’s nomination process will become part of the pool from which one individual is selected for this annual honor. The recipient will not be chosen because of fame, position, wealth, or title. They will be recognized because of what they did for someone else. Their story will remind us that extraordinary humanity can be found in ordinary people.
One person. One story. One light that deserves to be seen.
Do You Know a Hidden Warrior?
Perhaps you know someone who stepped forward when others stepped back. Someone who helped a stranger, protected another person, served a community, sacrificed for someone else, or demonstrated courage when courage was needed most.
Their act may have made the news. It may have been witnessed by only one person. Either way, it mattered.
Nominations are accepted throughout the year. Those recognized by The Hidden Warriors Foundation as Hidden Warriors will become part of the pool considered for the annual September 11 honor. Every nomination begins with something important: someone taking the time to say, “What this person did mattered.”
Somewhere, there is a Hidden Warrior whose story is still waiting to be told.
Be Part of the Light
Beginning in November, we invite you to join people across our communities in making one simple commitment: a one-time gift of $11.
That single $11 commitment carries with it the spirit of the eleven months leading us to September, when we come together to recognize a Hidden Warrior whose actions remind us that courage, compassion, service, and hope are still very much alive.
Please review the Campaign Participation Terms before participating in this campaign.
One Gift. $11. One Powerful Commitment.
A small commitment. A lasting recognition. A light carried forward.
The Light Lives On
On one of America’s darkest days, ordinary people showed us extraordinary light. That light did not disappear when the smoke cleared. It lives in our neighbors, our communities, our families, and in strangers who choose to help simply because someone needs them.
The Hidden Warriors Foundation believes those people are still among us. We will continue looking for them, listening for their stories, recognizing their acts, and carrying their light forward so that what they gave to others is not forgotten.
Our job is to keep looking.
Because there are still Hidden Warriors waiting to be found.
